Cry Havoc(San Diego)
Circle Getsa Square
We established Cry Havoc in the summer 2003. First and fore most, we needed to get our music heard. We wrote 12 songs and jumped into the studio. In February 2004, we self-released “The Outcome of Misery”. Primarily focused on punk, the album was very “NOFX”, “Strung Out” influenced. We did well with this album. We toured, networked, and heavily promoted the album to create and developed a fairly good size following. As a band, we took the appropriate steps, and made sure to correctly mark our territory. We copy wrote and trademarked our band name “CRY HAVOC” and all the material we had recorded. As the business started progressing, so did the line up. Over time, the chemistry worked itself out.
Cry Havoc is a solid five-piece rock band that is heavily influenced by: Rise Against, My Chemical Romance and Incubus. We fit nicely in the “Modern Rock” genre. We are committed to promoting online, venues and word of mouth to develop the reputation of a serious and hardworking band. Through the hard work, we’ve managed to win several battles of the bands, receive extensive college radio air play, as well as regular play on “The World Famous KROQ fm”, and share the stage with great acts such as: Unwritten Law, Mickey Avalon, Plain White T’s, Strung Out, Thrice, Saosin, Mad Caddies, Pulley, Death by Stereo, Guttermouth, A Static Lullaby, Ignite and A Thorn for Every Heart.
Musically, we’ve felt compelled to write what we loved. As we all come from various backgrounds, it tends to show in our music. Matthew Montoya and Phil Adams hold down the ambient as well as chunky rhythm on guitar, the low end bass and smooth bass lines are played by Chris Brandes, drums are pounded by the youngest member Mike Cambra and last the Stevie Wonder, Brandon Boyd melodies are provided by Mr. Jowee Liscano. This is just the beginning for Cry Havoc. Currently we are in the process of writing a new full-length album (due out early 2008) followed up by a summer tour. But the love for music won’t wait till then, in the mean while you’ll be likely to find Cry Havoc rocking a local show, or at least promoting it… ![]() ![]() |
